Anyone use a Tractor Supply incubator?

yup, have used lg incubators from tractor supply since the 90's. have a new one with turner from which i just hatched three RIR peeps. only pain in the arse is adding H2O and not pouring it on the eggs. like them foam bators, yup, i do.

Someone may have already said this, but the key to one of these incubators is to have a stable temp in the environment that the incubator itself is in. It really needs to be in a climate controlled room. The styrofoam does not insulate it well from the outside temps.

true i ended up closing the AC vent in the room, where we were incubating it sure helped stabilize the temp!! Our first attempt with this bator was a complete failure, but we made a LOT of mistakes. OUr second attempt was a 65% hatch rate-we were thrilled with that!!

I did notice that it was harder to maintain humidity with the LG bator than in my Hova bator. Probably should have reversed how I am using them and use the LG up until lockdown time and transfer to other bator. Oh well, live and learn, Who is it that said, "it is a sad day when you do not learn something new"?

In currently using this incubator, first time, have seramas and frizzle eggs set. weds is day 18, I'm getting nervous. hope i did things correctly so far! Temp has been between 99.5 and 100 got to 101 a few times in the first few days. Humidity to me is the tricky part, i can get it to what i think it should be, but there are so many thoughts on the correct humidity range. for the most part its been between 50-55%.. From what i read, ppl do anywhere from 45%-70% thats a big difference.. Anyhow, fingers crossed!!
