Anyone use chicken diapers?

Ummm as soon as they were big enough. I have silkies so the we’re little. My one rooster hated the amazon ones. He was always messing with it. But don’t even know the fluffy butt one is on.

My mom uses them on her serama hen. She makes them out of kid's socks, and puts in a little paper condiment cup to catch the poop. She just hand washes them if they get dirty, but the paper cups really help keep things clean. Ruby doesn't seem to mind one bit now, although she did try to take them off at first. Ruby didn't start wearing them until she was about 5 yrs. old., so it's never too late to try.

I've trained lots of adults to wear them because I breed seramas and keep them indoors. All the adults I bought from others had to learn to wear the pants. I just put them on and ignore the tantrum, the chicken figures it out on their own.

Do you remove them each night?
Not always. I have one bird who's so sure he's a person he won't sleep in a cage, he sleeps by my bed, so he wears them all the time but the others sleep in cages and don't wear them then. I change them a lot and kept plenty of clean ones on hand.
