2 y/o EE stopped laying after eggbound

Hello! I have an EE/Ameraucana that I've had for just under 2 years. For the first year of laying, she was a great layer. Probably 6 eggs a week. About 8 months ago she became egg bound, and luckily was able to pass the egg after treatment and rest. She is perfectly happy & healthy but has never started laying again. Is this normal? Is she done laying for good? She is only 2 years old.

If she does not start laying in the spring I would say she won’t lay again, but I think there is a good chance she will in the spring.

Hello All! She has still not started laying again, but her comb is still very red. I've always thought when they pass laying age, their combs become more pale.
Today I noticed she was stopping mid-walk, and straining, while making a strained groan. Nothing came out but some clear fluid. Is it possible for a hen to be egg bound this long without dying?

Egg binding can not last an extended time, but it could be a different reproductive issue such as internal laying.

Interesting - I've never heard of internal laying. I will do some research on this.
