Anyone use deer fabric to cover the top of the run?

I was looking at hawk proofing my soon-to-be-chicken run and thought I would try woven fence wire for the sides (I have some 5 foot rolls, add 2' of chicken wire at the bottom inside of the wire fence) and thought maybe I would extend the "roof" since it is going to be built against the side of an existing tall shed... by attaching deer fabric ( the kind you put on your garden for deer-proofing) to the existing wall at about 7 feet and angling it down to the wire fence. Any thoughts? The run will be about 16 feet long along the shed and 4 feet wide. I have landscape logs running the perimeter of the bottom for stability.

We have a couple chicks that we are boarding at a friend's until I get the coop finished! My daughter is sooo excited!

As a hawk deterrent the deer fabric will work.

But it won't do much to keep out climbing predators such as racoons so keep that in mind.

I see that you have been a member a lot longer that me, but this is your first post. I was facing the same decision with my run last week. Our main predator is hawks, and to a lesser degree: raccoons, coyotes, and neighborhood cats. We used hardware cloth on the sides but it is such a pain to work with that I wanted to put chicken wire on the top. Another forum member thought that was a bad idea because the raccoons could get on top of the coop and pry the chicken wire open or their weight might pull it down. We opted for horse/corral fencing. Got it at Lowe's. It is very study and has openings 2x4 in. I think it was easier to work with than the hardware cloth would have been. Hope this helps and good luck with your run.
