Anyone use dummy fake eggs to get an Emu to sit?

Still cold here, so I have to collect the emu eggs as they are laid. But I still want the male to incubate them. So who has swapped dummy eggs until their male has started sitting? What did you use for dummy eggs and how and when did you make the swap for the real eggs?

So, the newly-laid eggs are literally sitting about on the ground before the male sits to incubate?

I have seen a post on an emu facebook page where someone bought large wooden eggs and painted them the color of emu eggs and that worked.
