Anyone use the MPC Solid-Bottom Feeder?

Looks like a rabbit feeder. I use them in my isolation/anti-broody pens (all wire cages). You have to make sure they are covered because it is not so easy to clean wet feed out of them, and those cover DO NOT keep the feed dry. I have flaps of tarp that cover mine from the roof of the cage down over the feeder. As long as they are protected from the weather, they work pretty well in cages, but in a coop I prefer trough or hanging feeders, personally. Also, the metal does corode eventually. Plastic is much easier to clean and sanitize.

What I need is a feeder I can mount to the side wall inside the house of an A-frame tractor for 6-8 bantams. Since it'll be indoors, rain shouldn't be a problem. I do want to prevent waste from scratching feed out and/or pooping in it, which is why this looked appealing. Would a trough feeder be better? Can it mount to a side wall?

We used ours exactly the same way and it worked great except our was too exposed to the elements. Yes, it reduced waste for sure, as long as you mount it a little high so that they can't stick their heads all the way in it and sling food.

I would say this would work better for you than a trough feeder. Our trough feeders are free standing (home made) and sit on the floor of the coop.

Just wanted to add I found the same thing for a much better price at jefferslivestock.com under "solid-bottom rabbit feeder". I'm ordering it this week, hope it does the trick!
