Anyone using the automatic coop door closer?

Hi everyone,

I got my coop door closer in the mail today from the UK

and unfortunately, it is not working for me (it opened the door, but is now stuck on open). The instructions are pretty scant and their only solution to a stuck door is to call them for info on how to reset it... Of course, tomorrow is Saturday so they won't be there, and we're leaving for the weekend (which is why I rush-shippred the door.. argh).

Does anyone own this thing who could give me a clue?

I don't own one of these....but I don't know if you've tried taking out the batteries and then putting them in again
sometimes that will reset things.

Do you have it on the light sensor or the timer? I have one on a timer. I've only had it get stuck open once and my battery in the timer were dead. You can test it by holding a penny on two of the connector to test it for opening & closing. Plus you have to hang the door on it while it is up so it can adjust itself. I will have to ask my husband he set it up for me. I think a couple people on here have them too so maybe they will chime in to help.

According to the manual that came with mine, you can manually lower the door by bridging pins 3 & 4. The door will reopen after about 10 seconds.

THanks for the help, everyone. I figured out the problem - resistance on the door. I screwed the rails in rather firmly and the slight resistance this gave was enough to stop the door entirely since it relies entirely on gravity. Thanks again.
