Anyone wanna do a Spring Pheasant or Chukar Hatch along ?

I hear peeping from my eggs that are due tomorrow. I'm very excited since when I went to lock everything down, 6 of the 7 chicken eggs had mysteriously died off. I now have a lone chicken chick (going to try and get him under my broody - she is a good mama)

Hopefully most of these pheasant eggs will hatch.

The first two are doing great and bopping around the incubator. They are so much calmer than the first batch I hatched.

First one of mine hatched this morning - another 1/2 way out, some movement in the others. crossing fingers!

ETA: 2nd one got out but died...not sure what went wrong. :-(

Well, I had hoped to get 20-25 birds to process out of the 50 chukar eggs I bought. Tony (steelshot) was extremely good to me when he shipped. 6 dozen eggs and not one broken. Had 60 coturnix in the bator, but ready to move to the hatcher, when they arrived. So now 2 bators are full, cort hatch should be over monday or so, 7 hatched this morning 24 hrs early. looks like 4 brooders may not be enough if the chukars hatch well in 3 weeks. Man I to finish another pen too... Can ya have too many birds???
