I tried a different scale technique, but it didn't work out that great.

Your making me so jealous! You put so much detail, I'm always too lazy to even think about putting scales besides on the belly! This is my most recent one, I copied you on some parts! (I based it off your first dragon post, but didn't post it before now because it is not as good as yours )
I think its front legs are too small... but they took me so long to make because I was struggling that I did not want to redo them!

And this is how far I have gotten on @black_cat 's profile! I'm trying out color! And as you can see... I can't shade with pencil before putting color either, I just get the basic outline and then dive right in!

We'll see how it turns out!

I think that the dragon looks great! So far, the coloring on the cat looks AMAZING. I can see all the depth in the ears, and the texture looks amazing. Keep up the good work, I can't wait to see if finished!

I have some dragons too, but they are from a book. Here's my cartoonish style that I've made for them for doing fanart. Usually when using my imagination, I do a more realistic style.

Her name is Moonwatcher, but Moon for short.
This is her and her boyfriend Qibli. They're my two favorite characters in the series.

The top dragon is the same drawing as before, and the bottom one is her boyfriend. They're different tribes of dragons (kind of like breeds?) so they look pretty different. These are from the book series Wings of Fire.

Yes, Qibli is a sandwing! Have you read the books? These are from the second arc. Moon is a nightwing, but it's kinda hard to tell without color, as they don't really have distinctive scale or body traits.

They are super fun to read. In the second arc of books there's a whole new set of main characters, but my favorites from the first arc are Glory and Deathbringer (they're also a cute couple) but I don't think that you've met Deathbringer yet in the first 3 books. I can't remember lol.
