I've had this tree since early summer, taking care of it, removing a leaf here, & there to encourage branch growth. It was growing nicely, & needed water weekly.

A few months from now, I've been trying to get the stubborn tree to grow branches on a side that it was lacking on it's stem. I remove a leaf, no bud growth a week, or two later, next few weeks I remove another leaf, nothing. Just recently my tree decided to grow the branches exactly where they needed to be. It took me several months to get it to grow more branches.

My brain curfews itself.
I intend to stay up and watch or write stuff, then I lie in bed for a minute to warm up before braving the five paces to my desk, and then it's suddenly morning.
I still stay up way past midnight, though.

I got a grafted one from TSC. I should be expecting lemons next year.

You seem to have some bad luck with that sprout.
