Wonderfully said, as someone who takes care of animals as a small business, it bugs me when people leave out the little things like "how much to feed ____" cause I don't know and don't want to harm their animal. Yes make it as simple and detailed as possible!! Straight to the point like she said. Making a list is a splendid option too.Make it as simple as possible, but detailed.
Example: Feed the chickens at this time with this food. Give them clean water once a day. Shut the pop door once it is dark.
Directly to the point.
Remember that they don't know your birds as well as you do.
Had someone sit the chickens for a weekend, and they thought they had to round up all the chickens before bed. I laughed so hard that I cried when I got back and explained to them that chickens will go to bed with the sun. Forgot to put it on the list, because I didn't think about it.
EVERYTHING IS NEW. LEAVE NOTHING OUT.
Tell them what to do if a bird gets out. Remind them that chickens are food motivated. I'd be surprised if a chicken doesn't get out... Again, you might have gotten used to Red trying to jump out of the coop, but they don't know that.
If you've got roos, educate them on what to do and what not to do.
Have them come over before you go and walk them through what they need to do, have the list with you so you can show them what's on it and how to do it.

I think that the generally agreed age was somewhere between 7 and 40-something.
