Anyone with Ayam Cemanis?

I got an ayam Cemani from a local farmer a few months back and I have been searching for more information on ayam cemanis now more than ever! Would you mind answering a couple questions I have? Like, “when does the cockerel start crowing usually?” Mine is 6 months, full sized, gets “randy” with the ladies and sometimes fights my other rooster, but it doesn’t crow at all.

My roo started crowing in early Jan of this year. He would have been ~11 months old. I have another Blue Ameraucana roo about the same age that began crowing a little earlier. I think this probably had something to do to trigger a response from the Cemani roo.

Thank you! So it’s not that weird to be older than 6 months before crowing? Wow, I learned something new today.

I have several AC that I breed/raise. Once the hens started laying, they havent stopped. I do collect eggs every day, so I don't know if that has had an affect, but they started laying in August 2019 and we get an egg from each everyday- aside from those random days like once a month where there's nothing.

Yeah I don't know why people say they don't lay well, it's totally NOT true. Fake news, lol. Mine were laying every single day! I did sell them to make room for large breeds, because I'm going in a different direction. I saved 3 of my Ayam Cemani chicks I hatched from them though, to put in my chicken house instead of a breeding pen.

Here are 4 pullets at 3 months that I kept & so far every hatchling has sold. These are the culmination of 5 years of breeding. It's been a long difficult road but it's finally paying off.

Also including in the pics are my breeding stock & fibro expression found on all current hatches.

I have one pure AC and now 3 mixes, 2 mixes I bought as eggs- babies, and one AC/BCM, product of my pure. the pure, lays every day currently, but small eggs, not doing back flips, her daughter the AC/BCM has all the dark of the AC but copper neck markings, she only wants to momma. I have not been too impressed with the whole AC thing, but I am not unhappy to have some.

I have 4 Cemani hens, and two of them lay GREAT, almost an egg a day, and the other two are horrible layers. I've gotten maybe 2 eggs in a week. So I'd say it depends on the bird really
