How long was it before you got your first egg?

My Easter Egger pullet laid her first egg 2 days shy of being 6 months old.

Mine is only going on 4 months so no eggs yet.

It took longer than I thought which was 25 weeks.

Over the years mine have always laid by 20-22 weeks.

Our 2 EE last year, started around 21 weeks old. This year we have four more EE, and they are currently 19 weeks old, but have not yet laid any eggs.

My EEs laid at about 20-23 weeks. Sometimes it takes longer.

FWIW, because EE are a "mutt" - a mix of breeds to get a general type and egg colors, there will likely be variation in their laying age. Hopefully yours won't be on the longer side of things, as it is very exciting to get those colored eggs! We had a breed (not EE) that took *forever* to lay, and that wait was excruciating! Those 3 pullets took 39 and 44 weeks to lay (the third had never laid by 45 weeks when we sold them), so I can sympathize with wanting those eggs!

Ours are 7 weeks old, so nothing yet, but we are anxiously awaiting. Our 16-bird flock is brand new (oldest birds are just 12 weeks old now) and we can't wait to start getting the fresh eggs. My bride "designed" our flock to have multi-colored eggs and when the last of our birds come in, we will have 19 birds and only one that lays white eggs!
