Temp has been right at 99.5 entire time. If anything, the humidity has been running too high, and I've been trying to get it down (so I can move it back up for lockdown??) The egg that pipped didn't seem to be progressing after 12 hrs. so I looked at it and there was a crack down one entire side from the pip, and didn't hear any peeping, so I don't think it made it. They are pheasant eggs and I have had no luck candling. I turned the rest and think I'll stick to the original date unless I see any more pips.

Have you checked you thermometer to make sure it is reading correctly?
What I mean by that is it may say the temp is 99.5 but it could be off a few degrees which could cause growth to be quicker.
We had a thermometer that read 2 degrees less than it should of. We had someone tell us to take a bulb style thermometer that registers below 32 degrees and take a cup of crushed ice water and put the bulb down in it and if it reads 32 degrees than it is correct but if it is above or below 32 than the thermometer is off. You can still use it but you need to adjust your setting to be the correct number up or down based on the ice/water test.
We had friend whose thermometer was off also. We have had digital ones off as well. We keep have poor hatch rates and found it was the thermometer miss reading. A friend kept asking us if our temp was right but did not explain how to check the thermometer to make sure it was reading right.

He candled all the eggs at 3 PM today. Only 3 of them were not good. They died around week one of incubation. And yes, he does break open every egg to see what stage it was at when it is bad. All are in lock down as of 3 PM today.

He laughed when he read my earlier post about him being addicted to hatching chicks!!

Nearly have the brooder room ready. Got to get the brooder boxes down out of the rafters, get bedding and get the heat lamps hung. Gonna be a busy day tomorrow preparing for the chicks. Brought turkey starter yesterday for the chicks. Got to sanitize the waterer and feeder and get the marbles out for the water.
