Yep - I work from home. I'm in finance/accounting, just lucked on the job as I moved out of state and the company wanted to keep me! (I'm good... [IMG] )

Its not easy, but it works for me, and I'm lucky to have the experience IN the office first - for this type of position.... and of course I didn't have to go LOOK for a job either - I'd been at the company 2 years before I moved... and have about 17 years exprience in this position anyway...

Good Luck - I don't think its easy to find a work at home job....

Master Soap Maker! I do have to get a part time job though, my DH is a HVAC tech and his work slows down in the colder months which means less $$$$.

I am a night dispatcher for a trucking company, and I do my work from home. Mostly it's answering the phone and telling the drivers where to go, but I also have to keep up with paper work and do some computer work. I work from 4pm-8am, I can sleep when I get things mostly lined out (usually 2am), but I still have to get up if I get a call. And I work Weekends til all the drivers are in, which could be anywhere from Friday night to Sunday morning.

I guess the only down sides is I can't go anywhere that the phone won't reach, and I have to listen to the drivers complain about how horribly they are treated and how I save all the good loads for my favorite drivers.

Me too..I am a senior consultant. I got lucky about 5-6 years ago, when my manager who is located in another state decided I was commuting too far to work with no team members in that office. So she asked me if I wanted to work from home and give up my office to save the department some money. I said sure, why not. Now all this time later, the company has decided to move 30% of their workforce to work at home by the end of next year to eliminate office costs, which will be tremendous cost savings for a company this size. We are a worldwide company with a huge workforce and many women employed who rely on flexibility for family obligations. The company recognizes that and can benefit from it. Works good for everyone. I manage offshore vendor quality to ensure accuracy of the work they do for our company (yup..outsourcing). I have a team of auditors and work with developers to build quality tools to manage their workflows, provide root cause analysis and trending for the vendor, as well as specifications for how their work should be done to provide the right outputs for our company. It gets pretty complicated past that, but it gives you an idea of some of the work I do.

I sell items on ebay. I yard sale on weekends, shop thrift stores and outlet stores, then post it. I love what I do and make good money when I work hard, and Ok money when I'm not really in the mood to work. The shopping at yard sales is my favorite part of the job.

I do athome daycare. I only have 2 children that I watch so far. I have my 2 sons that are 4 and almost 2 . My oldest will turn 5 in December and start school next fall so then I will probably find another child to watch. I think I will also have a newborn starting in January. I dont charge all those extras that most daycares are now so it is not hard finding kids. I have a brother and sister that I have watched since the little girl was only 6 weeks old. Her brother started coming when he was almost 4 weeks old. There is a little over 10 months between them. The little girl is only 4 months younger then my youngest boy. It is hecktic some times but I dont mind it. It was cheeper for us for me to stay home and do this then it would have been for me to continue CNA work and drive back and forth and also have to boys go to daycare. Jenn
