Anyones girls starting to pick up?

No...my 11 girls, who just started laying late summer, were laying 6-7 a day. Well that slowed down to 2-3, then 1-2, then nothing! The one egg I did find had frozen! Then one day I noticed one of the girls walking a few steps then squatting, walk a few steps-squatting. I picked her up to check her out, worried she might be egg bound, but no...just as I was checking her abdomen, an egg fell out right between my feet! Since then...nothing! I had to go buy store bought eggs! Horrors!

Yup!! I have 8 hens and have gotten no eggs since Nov. 15. Got the first one on Jan 1 from my broody (July 11) and the second one from my Easter Egger Vesper on Jan 9. The others are starting to think about it again. (Combs getting red... looking into the nest boxes, etc.) Yeah!!! I dislike those pale, weak store-bought eggs!!

Definitely, I was getting 2 to 4 per day out of about 50 birds. Now, getting 30 to 35 per day. Much better, I was rationing those few eggs for a while there. NO store bought eggs for me! My later summer babies are now laying, I'm getting several pullet eggs.

Also I forgot to mention, I have a black copper maran hen that was the first of our group of 8 pullets to lay this past fall, and when she started laying she layed almost every day. Then one day in maybe November she just stopped. Earlier this week she laid again and has laid 1-2 more....weird how she had been so regular and just quit like that....

Greetings, We have 6 leghorns and get 4 to 6 eggs a day, one day we got 7. We have a small heat lamp in the henhouse which we close up at night. This summer we adopted a Easter egger someone had dropped of at the feed store. She wasn't laying, she had mites and feather loss around her rear.
We dusted her for the mites, fed her well and the fact, I think, that we got a rooster helped. Yeaterday she gave us a green egg. I put it aside when this hatch is done I'm planing to incubate it with a few others.

My girls are just finishing their molt and I am getting 1 every other day fron 2 different hens while the other 4 think aboout it. What does the combs gettting redder/darker have to do with increased egg production?

Through sleet, snow, wind, rain and freezing temps, my girls never slowed down. Even my EE's, who normally go on strike in November, have been laying. I have 24 hens and today I picked up 19 eggs. Crazy but true. Not sure what is going on with them, but I like it!!!

1 of my Speckled Sussex is laying, the other SS never started. The cochin and pyncheon (pyncheon just molted) are taking a long vacation. At the ranch they are not getting a lot of eggs either but they had some snow, spring the laying should take off.
