Anything Art :)

The man i got him from had broken his wing while trying to catch it which completely shocked me since I found it fairly easy to catch him without making too much of a mess. He's in my basement healing and improving everyday :thumbsup
That's sad, but good that he's healing. A few years ago I had a peacock die not long after I got him because the man I bought him from bagged him in a feed sack to make travel easier  :/

Yikes! That's terrible, Poor thing :hmm I didn't really get mad at him or anything, He was nice old guy that I bought my call ducks from as well. Had an extra pair of golden pheasants he didn't have enough room for so he offered them to me for free, So i'm not complaining ;)

Lolz, my guy was old too. He gave me another for free :)

That was nice of him, Mind me asking how many peafowl you have? Oh and do you breed/sell them too or are they just for looks?
That was years ago. Sadly, the peacock escaped from his pen and ran off after about a week.
I got my pair I have now last year as chicks, because I've just always loved peafowl and wanted my own. I'm hoping they'll set this spring, but I'm not holding my breath :p I'd love to have more but I don't have the pen space, really.

Aw, Sorry to hear about that :hugs Must suck. Oh how exciting it would be to have little peachicks runnin' around the place! I definitely got the space to own peafowl.. Just not the pens. I'd need a nice enclosed run/coop before I can even think about buying a couple.. I'm already in the middle of planning/building pens for my ducks, guineas and turkeys (Got my chicken pens all sorted out ;)). Plus i'm adding some geese to my flock this spring so that's another coop I have to build :th If only lumber wasn't so expensive. Sorry, i've got another question.. Could I maybe see a picture of what you keep your peafowl in?

It was terribly sad, but now I've got a pair, so that's good :)
Ikr? I haven't had chicks of any kind in over a year.
I had ducks and guineas, too, but a bobcat got all of them. (They were all male and very annoying, though, so it's probably for the best.)
I've always wanted geese! What breed/s are you adding?
Here's the coop: front left has the peafowl, back right my silkies, and the remaining two are my laying hens.

It's not the most practical form, but there was a concrete block already when we moved in so we just had it built on that. No mud ;) I designed the layout myself, so that was fun.

Oh wow, That's a nice set-up! I love the doors :love I just finished my golden pheasant pen about a week or two ago, The inside of the coop part still needs work. I'm not proud of the door but I was in a hurry to get the Pheasants in a proper pen.

I'm stuck between getting White/brown Chinese geese or African geese.. Haven't made up my mind yet.. But i'll only be getting a breeding pair.. Got the coop planned out, Just need to build it.

Thank you! I wanted to have custom doors made (and the coop's height was originally supposed to be a foot shorter) but we found some screen doors on sale and replaced the screen with hogwire.
That's lovely :love Especially with the red paint against the snow ;)
I've read that those breeds are the meanest; is that true?

I hope not! I know the Chinese are Very vocal but i've never heard of them being mean.. None of my animals (Except for the ones I buy as adults) Are aggressive towards me or anyone else.. But that's because I pretty much live with them the first 5 weeks i get them, After that I still visit them quite often and give them treats.. Oh and thank you kindly ;) The red is actually the back of my chicken coop that was Suppose to be a duck coop, That's brand new as well. Made it last summer. Decided that building the pheasant pen off from the chicken's pen would save some time And money. Plus it's out of the wind!
