12) Describe the housing/bedding in use pine shaving big coop. right now wire dog kennel with moving blanket and pine shavings
i heard a big thud this morning walking up to the coop. i opened the chicken door and the first chicken i see is larry (a rooster who had problems as a chick along with tiny who is the white cochin so they are attached to the hip) normally tiny always comes out first and causes a ruckus by blocking the door way. larry ran up to me making some funny noises then went back into the coop so i decided to check on the others. as i walk into the coop i see tiny try to take a step then fall forward, she then sitting up curled her head in puffed up the feathers and refused to move. she gave me no trouble as i picked her up and made no fuss as i examined her. i then brought her inside to my "chicken hospital" in my basement. she barely opens her eyes is laying on her side and is not eating or drinking. i tried to hand feed her some water but was only able to get a drop or 2 in here ( i tried both water and some save a chick i keep on hand. water no go but she did take a sip or 2 of the save a chick via a dropper.
tiny has always refused to sleep on the perches until about 2 or 3 days ago. i think she might of hurt herself trying to jump off a taller perch. i do have very low perches because i have bigger breeds but the top perch is a good 4 ft up.
am i doing all i can do? i can't find an injury and she looks like she needs rest so after i tried to hand feed her i decided to let her rest to see if shell recoup enough strength to try eating.
