Hi there!
My 1 yr old Australorp started molting in mid Feb and stopped laying eggs. It's May now, her feathers are all back, she looks great but hasn't started laying again! Is there anything I can do to help her start again? Is there some kind of food supplement that i could add? I am currently feeding my girls layer pellets, and give them yogurt occasionally as a treat.

thank you!

I have an one year old Ameracauna who started molting in Oct of 2010. She is still not laying. I don't know why. My others started laying the 2nd of February. I too, would like to know what would help her start laying again. Not sure what the problem is. I feed her organic laying feed and they get lots of treats daily.

How about some extra protein. Maybe you could give her some canned cat food....I've heard people do that....

Oh my! She hasn't been laying since last October?

I guess I will start giving her more protein. Does anyone know what are some good sources of protein? besides cat food?

I am also planning on a lock down, and keeping them in the coop for a while. I've been reading that when the chickens free-range, they don't get as much protein intake.

Anyone else have any suggestions?

Thank you!
