Anything to stop a dog from killing chickens??

Ditto here, then when he even thinks about chickens zapp the livin fire out of him and in a few days he won't even want to eat chicken flavored dog food. Coddling type training will surely end in disaster.

With my dog we walked her outside on the led next to the chickens. They eventually got used to eachother. My dog and hens are fine now.

YES YOU CAN!

If you can not handle dog AND chickens get rid of one or the others.

For the animals good.

I echo the shock collar recommendations. I got one for my oldest grump and it worked INSTANTLY. Unfortunately, since the batteries have worn out, she has gradually started in with chasing again, so I need to recharge it and tell her "hello" again.

ditto again. you need a training collar though. while you are out of site with the transmiter have someone else allow exposure to a chicken or even present one to the dog. when the dog gets close to or touches the bird you zap him.
i've seen coon hunters use this method to break a dog from running deer. casual presentation or walking the dog on a leash up to the target is best. it needs to seem accidental, not as though you forcing the dog to go to the bird.

I had a boxer mix with a high prey drive. Nothing on earth would have stopped him from killing chickens, cats, etc. so he was never allowed access to them. You asked the very best way to keep a dog from killing chickens--never allow them together and make sure the pen is solid and dog-proof or keep the dog fenced away from the birds. That's the best way.
