anything you wish you knew before getting geese?

Bummer about the dog-sized poo, that could be a dealbreaker as far as DH is concerned! Everything else sounds nice tho

Maybe this is a dumb question... but... do they fly?

And fencing my garden would be a must, yes?

Could they winter with the ducks in the duck coop? Are they cold hardy?

How much they poop. And that they like the blacktop more than the grass.

forgot the garden queston.. YES YES YES.... they will eat a tomatoe just as it get the first tinge of red.... and they will strip the corn leaves. Forget about waiting for the ears... they will eat the leaves off of each plant..

No Geese but where I work (unfortunely we have a nice man made pond in front) we have hoards of Canadian Geese and do they make a mess with their droppings! We had 2 pair raise about 12 babies last spring. They are wonderful parents-one of the parents are always on the look out while the family eats. One anoying habit they have is they have to walk single file across the street and very slowly unless you get out of you car then they hurry up.
