I posted a few days ago about the lone egg I was trying to save. He finally externally pipped! Woo! If the rehabber cannot get to him right away what are my steps? I have a brooder ready and food/water suitable for ducklings, I know they don’t require for 48 hours. Anything else I should know?

I would supply the duckling with a mirror so that it could imprint as a duck rather than imprinting on you if there is potential that it might be returned to the wild eventually.

keep it warm too and maybe a snuggle stuffed animal.

Putting a mirror and a stuffed toy in his brooder might help keep him company, you could also play some ducks sounds for him as well.

When do I move him from incubator to brooder? Do I touch humidity level or anything.

Still nothing since the external pipe yesterday midday. Is this still normal? I haven’t touched in days.
