anywhere close to laying

i need to know if my pullet is close to laying

Her comb's a good colour. How old is she?

It's possible that she's close! However, I have a chicken whose comb was bright red and huge for over a month before she started laying at 20.5 weeks old. Her sister's comb, OTOH, just turned red and started getting larger a week ago and she started laying a few days after the first one. They are the same breed and the same age. I guess what I'm saying is that a bright red comb doesn't necessarily mean that laying is imminent. How old is she?
