I am writing this message as a member of both the APA (life member) and ABA. I have been a member for years and will continue to support both of these National organizations not for the benefit of ribbons, awards, points or acclaim I may receive from either organization but for the purpose of having a collective voice in Washington, D.C.
You have all heard of the power of the collective voice and how individuals normally cannot effect change but noisy groups of individuals can effect real change or stop poor policies from being enacted into law. Well, here is where the APA/ABA come into play. Each has representatives working together to defeat or make commonsense law of government initiatives such as NAIS.
At last check there were 35,000+ registered members on this forum and half again that many unregistered visitors which would constitute over 52,000 poultry enthusiasts on this site alone!!!
What a voice to be heard in Washington!!
I emplore each of you as fellow poultry enthusiasts to join the APA, ABA or better yet both. Your support will add much needed public support of our hobby and may well save the very activity we have come to love. It is a small price to pay to help ensure this hobby will be here for future generations to enjoy.

Sincerely,

Bo Garrett
