(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I had chickens from 1981 through 1999, when we moved, and I left 'my girls' in the caring hands of the new owners.[
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? None...but thinking.....
(3) What breeds do you have? I enjoyed many breeds
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com? Saw a mention on facebook
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
artist: restore ancient artifacts, paint portraits, murals. Cartooning, crocheting, herb gardening, animal rescue, building miniatures, sewing, mosaics, supporting my young women in the armed forces by joining Ladies of Liberty.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
My screen name, Allatkert, translates to animal garden, in Hungarian.
We now live in a beautiful place that makes gardening a real challenge. On the side of the Superstition Mountains. Rocks, and more rocks.
I have missed having chickens since we moved here, but with hawks, coyotes, rats, bobcats, pumas, javelinas, owls, rattlesnakes, Gila Monsters, and severe weather, I thought those good days were behind me. Since I wandered onto your site, I have been trying to figure out how to break it to my husband that we might be expecting new additions to our family.
