Apartment Duck questions! Advice?

I have one pekin duck and I life part time in an apartment. The major complaints i have about apartment duck living is the feathers EVERYWHERE. I know its molting time, but is there any ideas to keep this from being such an issue? Like brushing her or something? Haha- I dont know.

Also- everyone knows how messy pekins are. Is there any type of food that I can feed her that will make the pooping a little more manageable?

Where do you keep her in the apartment? Do you put paper down? Does she wear a duck diaper??
I thought I read somewhere the more meat they eat the stinkier the poop is. Can someone confirm this?

Nope and nope.....can't brush her and she's gonna poop...a duck's favorite hobby! I do sort of fluff up my girls' feather while petting them when they molt and it shakes a a few loose ones out. Have you tried diapering?

Ive had her a few diapers, yes. They are too small now and SO expensive. Do you buy duck diapers? Are there any cheap options?

No, I don't diaper....my ducks are outside happily pooping away in a run. Did try for a spell when they were young and indoors...they weren't having it one bit!

Check ebay for diapers, and consider fermenting her food...it is supposed to reduce amount and smell of poop. Good Luck!

Also go to youtube, some people make diapers out of (in your case VERY) large socks and they show you how. It cute!
