Apiary and Aviary

Welcome to BYC! I don't know a lot about bees, but I do know you have a great mix of chickens. That's quiet an assortment of Orpingtons you have. We only have the Buffs, but love them for their calm and gentle personality. We love the Australorps for the same reason and they are better layers, but your Red Sex Links are laying machines (same with the Black Sex Links we have). The Easter Eggers are my granddaughter's favorites as she loves the colored eggs. You have some nice exotics as well. Good luck with your flock and your bees.

You have Black sex-links? When they are babies your are able to see difference among both? They are black doesnt it make that difficult?

Yes, I have Black Sex Links. It's very easy to tell the difference between newly hatched male and female BSL chicks. Just look at the top of the head. If the top of the head has a white spot on it, it's a boy. If the top of the head is solid black, it's a girl.
