I think the more of us that have chickens will expose others to the idea. I have had so many people ask me "really? You can have chickens in town?" and walk away with a twinkle and a plan. Chickens can be lovely, entertaining pets, and more people are finding that out through all of us. I don't know how many people I have raved to about how much I love my chickens and how easy they are to take care of.
Our town has a lot of chickens in it already, and more all the time. It may be the green factor, the sustainability movement or just that chickens are so darned cute. Either way, it's a movement that is growing by leaps and bounds.
