Every so often I read a posting where someone will mention giving their flock ACV in their water, but no where have I found (I did a search) on what the actual benefits of doing this is. Can someone share?

I actually bought some just to have on hand in case I ever needed it... but don't have any idea for what reason I would.

Many chicken keepers claim the acidity of the vinegar inhibits the growth of bacteria, yeast, and fungus in the crop.

Kind of like, ahem, certain feminine products that use vinegar.

Interesting... so do you give this to chicks as well as grown chickens? Is this something that should be done on a regular basis.... or only if the flock or chicken appears ill?

I give it to all of my birds, all ages and I have seen a big difference in my birds. Alot less sinus problems, they seem more active and they look better also. I put in their water once a week............

When raising rabbits for my daughter's FFA we put ACV in rabbit water bottles and it kept them healthy with good digestion. Same with us humans. It is supposed to be the best ancient cure all.
