Apple Cider Vinegar

Does total alkalinity make a difference in the dosage?

My well water has a pH on the order of 7.4 to 7.6 but total alkalinity is fairly high; in fact, tap water and vinegar produce a notable reaction with the evolution of significant gas. Should I stay at 1 tsp/gal, or would I be better off upping the regular dose of ACV to 1-1/2 tsp?

Probably you could reduce that and it might be a good idea. I don't really think that it would really make a great difference if the product isn't used daily. Personally I don't think I could ever recommend using it daily except in certain cases where you're trying to treat or rule out yeast, fungus, etc, or treat sour crop, etc.

I personally like it more as a tune-up, used "occasionally" - monthly, every couple of weeks, twice a week max for just tune ups.

What a great worming post! I have been scouring the internet for good information backed with experience on this topic. Even though your post is kind of old, it has really helped to shed some light on what should be a fairly straighforward topic. I have treated a few chickens for respiratory infection with no improvement. I had one die 2 months ago, not responding to antibiotics. Today I came across "gapeworm" and proceeded to spend over an hour trying to figure out what to do about it. Seems it would be common, as they get it from worms and snails. Thank you so much for taking the time to write that post!
