Vinegar will freeze at about the same temperature of eggs, 28F.

Not much help, but some.

It is also acidic, will assist in the corrosion of any metal it is in contact with.

I use apple cider vinegar in my flocks water a tablespoon per gallon mainly to help with biofilm on the container. I use it to ferment feed. I give fermented feed as a treat and not on a regular basis. I also use probiotics in the water for gut health, 1/4 tsp per gallon...works great. My one hen who could t shake coccidiosis is doing way better now since probiotics and apple cider vinegar and fermented feed treats. I don't know the exact science behind it, but evidenced based practice suggests it has been a positive experience for my hen Pita

I love how Purina talks about its products like they are the only one in the world, granted that's probably how they have to talk, but still-at least educate yourselves on what's out there!
I recently had a Purina 'expert' come and talk to my local county poultry program (my mistake) and I wasn't impressed.  I'm sure they all mean well and are told they have to endorse their products and call on 'experts' to pledge to their products, but honestly I find that I could gather better information and better products on my own time and with my own efforts.  
Don't get me wrong, I have used Purina products before and continue to use them for my rabbits off and on, but they are not my first choice.  
I wish they could come off as being better educated and more open minded about the world that they are supposedly bringing the highest quality feeds to. 

Honestly I know that Purina is a sponsor and all but I don't trust them at all. I will avoid any of their dog/cat/chicken products like the plauge. There are too many lawsuits about their food killing dogs. This is just my personal opinion. I believe that people are inherently good, but once you put them in large corporations it intensifies all the bad qualities. Just look at all the toxic chemicals they put in plastic. Sorry for my rant of the day.

I use feeds containing prebiotics, probiotics and yeast culture. So I don't have to add it to water. Read on the bag and the label on the bottom. Both big companies that sponsor on backyard chickens sell feed containing them. GC
