Applying Spar Varnish?

Anyone have any suggestions on applying spar varnish to the interior of a coop? I've read that you can thin it 30% and run it though a hand pump sprayer and achieve good results, but I figured I see what you guys thought first.

I would be concerned the thinner and solvents in the varnish would destroy the seals in the sprayer (assuming you are referring to a plastic spray bottle). What size is the coop? Can you use a brush and roller?

We used to put marine varnish on an old wood boat using rollers. Just do multiple thin coats if you're wanting to ensure water protection. 1 thick coat will run and the "texture" will be weird.
