April 1st. setting.. *hatching*| need a buddy.

Thanks. The one just below that in the picture is the other one that is pipped. I can hear him chirping in there! He is breaking through the bottom end and I just cannot get a good angle on it to get a pic.

Will keep you all posted!

I have seven that have hatched. Those Rhode Island Reds are dragging their feet. We've watched 6 of them hatch in class this morning. The kids are so excited. This is great!!!

i hear chirpping on mine but nothing else...
I am so excited. I agree w. poster about it feeling like christmas eve!!! ;-)

GL EVERYONE!!!

great looking lil chick, higins!

No news. I still have nothing. No pips. No signs of life. I am so sad. I feel like the worst egg hatcher in the world. I also feel like a chick murderer since their lives depended on me and I clearly let them down some how. Today is day 21 and I have nothing. Somone told me to take one out and candle it and listen for chirping. I know I shouldnt have, but I couldnt resist knowing if they were alive. One egg out of 6 had movement. I raised my humidity. I dont know what else to do.

chickenfever, do not feel that way, you did the best that you could and besides, they could just need a few more hrs.

I agi agree with twister. You are making the best with what you have. The two I Candled tonight showed little movement. Yes, I opened it up. I am on day 20 though. Take it easy on yourself. You have to remember that they were also some shipped eggs in there. Keep your chin up.

Sometimes people are off by one day too. It is not day 1 until they have been in the incubator for 24 hours.
If you saw movement in one, there is hope for all the rest too.
I have two bantams that went broody about 5 days ago. I took and gave them each one egg that had pipped and they are happily sitting on them listing to the chirping!
I have one more that piped in the incubator and the rest I keep looking at every hour with the flashlight! Good luck to everybody. Post pictures as they hatch. I hope I have
some in the morning!

So true!! My friend's eggs started hatching on day 19. That is why I am not so patient!

Saturday would probably be a more accurate 'due' date for mine. Or at least, so I am hoping!

It is interesting because most of my barred rock, and black sex link have hatched. It is just the Rhode Island Reds that haven't, so maybe some hatch a little sooner than others. They have been in there all day and I don't know if I should take them out, because some haven't hatched. Can't seem to get anyone to answer my posts. : (
