April 1st. setting.. *hatching*| need a buddy.

I took out all but the last 4 eggs that I believe have a chance of hatching.

They are all shipped marans eggs. I cracked them to see what stages they died at. 1 died a few days ago, maybe around day 15 or so.
1 had a blood ring. All the rest never developed at all. so of 16 eggs, 6 have/had a chance.

2 hatched, 4 left in the bator.

My first chicks have hatched, 1 from my flock (mixed), and 1 shipped EE. I can't see any more pips yet, I have 2 more of my mixed eggs in there, and 15 shipped EEs. I hope I get a few more. All 3 of my mixed eggs were good at lockdown, and I was pretty sure about several of the EEs, but??

I am loving these pictures! Congratulations on the hatched chicks!
My news is I sort of have a pip. It is basically a crack in the middle of the egg. Hopefully by morning there will be a fuzzy butt.

Drumroll please!!!!

My EE eggs had some cracking yesterday at bedtime. At 4am, I just happen to wake up to the first picture. Then s/he is more dried off now at 7am. The kids are over the roof. I was not expecting feathered feet on this little chick. There is one dark egg with a pip, but no change since this one was born at 4. I am so excited! Now for the eggs I really want to hatch... more vibes needed!

My last 4 maran eggs never pipped. So I got 2 out of 16 eggs. Not good..... But like I said, i had a feeling some might have froze in shipping.

I am supposed to be getting another order of Black copper marans eggs in the mail today or monday. Hopefully the next batch of them will go better.

But I have 11 babies!!! 2 marans and 9 mutts. and 3 of my mutts have chipmunk striping. So cute!

I'm happy with my first hatch. I'm just really glad I put in some of my own eggs the first time around. Otherwise, I would be upset with the hatch.

I have two more with pips, but no change in them since 4am. I hope they are not shrink wrapped in that I had to open the top briefly.
