I went on a short road trip and came back to my broody being herself:

They are due around April 12th, the day I got my 1st chickens, 3 years ago. I will leave her with 8 eggs and see how she does.

In a few weeks will post pictures if they hatch. Maybe will add sooner updates if i candle.
So far she is having a harder time than last, she has a preference for sitting in the same brooder box that everyone else wants to lay in so she keeps on changing where she is nesting due to high demand for the box.
I tried putting her in a dog crate and she ate 2 of the eggs on 2 separate days :( I don't know if I should keep trying the crate until she stays put?

Do you have a way to block off the access of the other hens to the nesting box she likes to be broody in?

I could, and that sounds like a good idea but how do I know when to let her out? Im thinking of blocking the entryway with cardboard with holes or something. I'm worried she'll have to poop and will feel stuck in there? Weird thing to worry about...
