Bummer.. we aren't able to make it, both our autos have issues at the moment. Not fair sounds like it's going to be loads of fun too. We would have no problem making the three hour drive

I'm new here, and to chickens in general. I have one coop and no chickens, but I'm looking forward to the Milford swap this weekend! Hopefully I can start my flock. I want to start small with only 4 chickens, but I'm looking for some good layers. Probably Araucanas, Wyandottes, Easter Eggers, Plymouth Rock, Star, and/or Rhode Island Red. And I might not be able to pass up a silkie

. Is anyone bringing any that could help me start out? I want hardy breeds; this is a learning experience. Excited to see you all there!

No One can pass up a Silky, well unless there is a Frizzle, or Sizzle present.

There should be any and or all of your wish list available. plus I am sure the ONLY 4 thing will pass rather quickly lol.
See you there.

Hi Folks! I'm new here too. Our family just moved to Temple NH from New Mexico, into a wonderful old farm property, and I'm very excited about having chickens again. Excited in general about the land we're living on... just gorgeous. I love it here.

I just want to verify that there is a swap in Milford both this weekend the 26th, and next month May 23rd?

And I'm hoping to find some pullets or chicks that are at least past the brooder stage. Especially hoping for australorps, silver-laced wyandottes, orpingtons, dominques or barred rocks, blue andalusians, stars, & dorkings. Not breeding, so one or two of any of these for a variety flock of 12ish would be good. We eat a lot of eggs in our family.

Also my teen daughters have gone crazy for the bearded silkies, so if anyone has a couple of these... the oldest went from "not chickens again" to "please please please get me a silkie" and they're biting their knuckles cuz they can't handle their cuteness.

If someone reading has any of these, I'd sure like to put a reserve on 'em, if that's within chicken-farmer protocol, lol.

Thanks and hello.
Kellen
