sorry i haven't been on in a while. my laptop has been having issues and i have to use dh's computer.
update on my hatch. i ended up with 8 std faverolle out of a possible 11 eggs, all cute and fluffy right down to their toes! they started hatching on Tuesday after i got home form work and all had been done by wednesday night.
i can't really tell who is male or female at the moment but i wanted to run something by those that may know them better. do the males have a patch on their backs of black fluff or would that just mean they could have the blue coloring? i have 5 that have it. i'm deciding if i want to keep one of these or one of the others. the rest i will be selling-7 of them.
Chick Magnet, i had 2 little cuties that are strong and healthy hatch on wednesday. one is going to be a splash and the other looks to be a WC black. if you can sex these using the wing feathers they look like they are both females. choose a color if you'd like one.
i have more eggs that came this week so next month i may have some more favs to sell-both sizes. 3 boxes came on wednesday and the dh asked me if there were any more coming and i didn't know i had one more arrive friday. oops, forgot about that one. so full bator of std polish, bantam cochin, and std & bantam favs.
i am new to the whole hatching/sexing thing for chicks. so after this last round of hatches i've learned to keep the bator closed and just go to work. the dh will ignore them for me while they hatch. the dog is the only one concerned with all the noise and just paces like an expectant father.
