. Yep I'm extremely happy that at least 2 are going to make it plus Ive been wanting a lilac since I started raising scovies. I think that the other is blue but I cant quite tell yet. Hopefully I will post pics of the lilac by this evening.

Well, if you want us to post pictures....

Here's a cruddy shot of my little Columbian Bantam Cochin that's nearly out:

So, out of the 8 eggs that made it to lockdown, I have one nearly out, two zipping, three that have pipped, and two that haven't done anything that I can see yet.

I'm thrilled - these were from an original batch of 12 shipped eggs. I would've been happy if I'd hatched just two, and it looks like I'm getting at least 5 or 6, if not 8!

Here are a couple pics
I like this one cuz the baby just has this look on his face like "oh hi there...what the heck ARE you?"

Ducklings are the cutest! You'll have to post more when the little one's all dry and fuzzy!

I had to help this little guy (Runner/Hookbill cross) out of the shell last week:

Ahhhh hez adorable! I have a quick question. I dunno if the baby is just disorientated or what but every once in a while he will roll his entire head in a circle and then its head will go limp for a few seconds then its back to normal again. Do you guys think he has head trauma or something?

Sounds like he's just learning to hold his head up to me.

I always worry about mine when they hatch and start learning their coordination, the way they stumble and thrash around - and then they'll suddenly go still, because they're all exhausted and have fallen asleep - but 5 seconds later they jerk back awake!

Four of my Cochin chicks are out now - that's half the eggs. Three more have pipped, and there's one that hasn't done anything yet.
Chick #4 came out the wrong color (they're Columbian Cochins, and this little guy looks brown) - so I'll have to post pictures when he gets all dry and fluffed out.

nothing yet,Checked one its doing good...might have my temp off a little so that could be why they are late....

My last chick is hatching 2 days late right now, and I have a Brinsea Spot Check thermometer that verifies that the temperature was between 99.6 and 100.3 during the entire incubation period. Sometimes I think they just take a little longer to mess with our heads!

I have 7 of 8 out and fluffy now, and one last little guy zipping!

I had 7 runners hatch yesterday and I have 2 more on the way. One just has a pip and the other one is starting to zip. They're cheeping like mad!
