Peckerino laid her 8th egg today - I kept track of weights (all in grams). For her first week, they were 34.0, 33.0, 32.4, 34.7, 36.1, 38.3, and yesterday's was 36.5. Today was 49.3g!!
Pics are yesterday's and today's from Peckerino, and the basket is all of today's šŸ¤”

Our 5 hens hatched May 1. Black Australorp, Barred Plymouth Rock, Rhode Island Red, Welsummer and Easter Egger.

The Australorp won the race yesterday, but *all* of their combs hit vibrant reds yesterday (except the EE.)

I got 15 chicks from MPC and meyer, hatched April 11. A lavender orpington, splash marans, 2 bantam cochins, a partridge cochin, porcelain d'uccle, mille fleur, buff bantam brahma, dark brahma, buckeye, fauvacauna, americauna, fizzled EE ...i might be forgetting onešŸ¤”. 1 turned out to be a rooster (the green queen EE). I've been checking everyday but no eggs yet. Today I saw the Cuckoo blue Egg layer go into the coop, and explore a bag of pine shavings, and the nesting boxes. I am wondering if this is a nesting behavior. So exciting!

Went on vacation for a week, came back to 2 new layers (bottom row, right 3 eggs). One is Kk (Karen the Karen)- the only EE with a pretty blue green egg. The other is a rich light brown, lighter than the salmon color of the bielefelder. I think it is Hedwig, the light brahma. I need a cam out there
