Hope the ones I sent did better....
Sorry they didnt do any better than that. I tried to 28 cochin eggs that were shipped and had only four hatch, still it is aggravating.

Did you tell chickenlover that you didn't get yours? If not, you need too. That way she can keep the ones that don't send out of the swap!

Your swap partner had gall bladder surgery, that is why she has not sent yet. She told me she will be sending soon

Well, three out of the five RIR's were moving when I actually had a chance to stop and do a close look. The other two looked like they had started to vein but they either stopped or were late bloomers and hadn't gotten to the moving stage. I need to look at them again and see whats up now, then I will know for sure. I need to get in there this evening and pull some duck eggs and find some room to squish in some pheasant eggs before they go bad anyway

My eggs from the swap this month didn't make it either - I was really hoping they would, I want some baby buttons so bad!! that makes me 0/2. But, I'd love to try it all again!!!

I candled my eggs for the last time last night (they're due on Friday, and I can't really see much anymore!).

Of the seven that had started developing, I lost one sometime last week. The remaining six look great! The air cells are pretty wonky and dip down into places they shouldn't, but I've found that a LOT of shipped bantam eggs do that, and they always hatch just fine for me. In fact, the eggs with the wonky air cells tend to be the first eggs to hatch.

I'll be posting again sometime between Thursday and Saturday to let you all know how I did!

Sorry for those of you who didn't have any luck this month.

I'm sending everyone good hatching vibes!

Well, when I moved them to the hatcher, two of the three were full but the third stopped at some point. Now I have one hatched and walking around and the other I can see it's head moving around in the egg, so hopefully it makes it out all right.
