I just don't understand why they didn't hatch? ? ?

I'm sorry

I have been great responses on shipped eggs. One recent response I heard 57 out of 60 Shipped eggs. I can't imagine what is happening for them to not hatch for you. I feel so bad

I hate hearing bad experiences.... I messed up an address or label on one of the others and it took a huge detour. I'm so bummed. It was all my fault on that one though

I have 6 eggs in lock-down on Day 19, and I have rocking and peeping!

I want to hatch a Mottled Cochin so bad!

I can't tell which eggs are which, but I know I have two Mottled Japanese eggs that made it to lock-down, and one that I'm 99% sure is a Cochin, and then I can't tell the difference between the Polish and Silkie eggs - I'm thinking that the Polish are more oblong, and the Silkies are more round?

Only one of the oblong eggs made it to lockdown, so I hope those aren't the Silkies - I have a friend who lost her entire flock of Silkies to raccoons two years ago, and she's finally ready to start over and wants any Silkie chicks I hatch!

EDIT: I just went to check the humidity in the 'bator, and I have 3 pips! A Japanese, the one that I think is a Cochin, and one of the unidentified eggs that I think is a Silkie!

Yes. If you need more of either, let me know. They're being pretty prolific right now!

Ooohh, I am still trying to get silkies, darn it. Did a May swap ever start?

We lost power during our hatch.

Hubby did not go pick up the generator!

I packed up incubator at 3:30 in the morning and took it to my moms. We now have some cute little RIR and BA's bopping aroung the brooder.

I honestly don't have room for any more eggs - the 'bators are full of my duck eggs again, and I had to pass up on the May Swap!

My hatch is over though - I got 5 chicks! (I candled the 6th egg that made it to lock-down this morning, and it obviously had died before lockdown began - I'm much too squeamish to open it up

)

It looks like I ended up with 1 White Crested Black Polish, 2 Mottled Japanese (yay!

), and two Mottled Cochins (although, one of the "Cochins" came out of that little dark brown egg and is much smaller than the other that came out of a cream-colored egg...it's Mottled and has fuzz on it's feet though, so if it's not a Cochin, it sure looks like one!).

No Silkies - but, I'm not a fan of them, really, and my friend can get more somewhere else - she lives in the city now, so she can't keep roosters, and it'll be better for her to buy some older, sexed birds.

I'm SO happy! I really wanted the Cochins and the Japanese, and I'm going to raise up the little Polish and give it to my aunt.

Here are some pictures of the little cuties (one was still a bit wet, but I have some standard chicks hatching in the same incubator, so I scooped the little ones out before the big chicks hatched and squished them!):
