The rest were clear-I was surprised that 3 blues and the 1 silver hatched seeing how those were the only ones left after the 7 day candle. The silver is much bigger than the others. Like HUGE! It's really funny. The kids call that one Gigantor.

I can't! I sold them about two hours ago! But they were both black with yellow under-bellies and feathers on their feet they were cute. The college students that bought them LOVED them and drove an hour and a half one way to pick them up. I had to sell them! I have 66 more eggs in the bators!

I can't! I sold them about two hours ago! But they were both black with yellow under-bellies and feathers on their feet they were cute. The college students that bought them LOVED them and drove an hour and a half one way to pick them up. I had to sell them! I have 66 more eggs in the bators!

They were both white eggs. No the last one hasn't hatched yet.

renegade - I hatched the one survivor egg from the first batch you sent! This one has to be special! It's a bobwhite and very pretty - so yesterday I went out and bought 10 white bobwhite chicks to keep her company! I couldn't wait for the next batch to hatch on the 18th - she could be lonely

. and besides they are pure white- how cool is that?

Ugh...these buttons are just not hatching well this year

I have a mixed pen of coturnix: Goldens, browns, whites, tuxedos, rosettas, cinnamons, and then I also had 1 or 2 red hens when I sent your eggs. The one with stripes sounds like a gold.

ETA: If the button happens to be a girl I've got plenty of extra males in need of new homes

Or I could always send you some more eggs if you want. Buttons are kind of tricky to hatch, wish now that I would have waited another day and sent more

Shelly - No worries! I got more button eggs in the bator (thanks alexandra!). If you have any good tricks to hatching them I'm all ears.

I did look inside and some were clear, others died early on and one was fully developed with no sign of anything wrong

, the one that hatched pipped and zipped fine on day 16 and is doing great. The coturnix did good, the ones that didn't hatch were clear so I had no quitters.
That's alot of colors, I'll have to wait and see what they look like when they get bigger and ask you again... lol I don't know my colors. I planned on keeping a mixed pen of different ones though, seems more fun that way!

Wolftracks you will be pleased to know that the last chick is out! However it would not have been I don't think without my help. It's day 22, no big deal except all the others have hatched and it had been cuddling since yesterday morning with still no pipping this morning. I was worried and didnt want to lose it so ( I know this is completely not in the rule book) I broke a hole in the shell and carefully peeled away at the egg till I could find it's head. It was 3/4 of the way down on the wrong end. This was one that from candling at the very beginning I wasn't sure if it would be viable because the air sac took up half the egg and was in an odd shape. I figured it would have a hard time hatching which is what spurred me to help. I am happy to say that he ( has a comb, a big one, already)is doing well. He is also black with some yellow and came from a white medium to small eggs (not bantie size though) . What kind of chick might he be?
