I would love to get involved when my babies grow up and if they produce enough eggs. I am just starting off with 8 hens and 1 Rooster. and I have no idea how many eggs they will lay.

Hens:
6 Buff Orrington’s

Daisy
Dandelion
Witch Hazel
Marigold
Tidy-Tips
Primrose

1 Plymouth Rock

King (son named her)

1 speckled Sussex

Princes

I am from Rochester IL and the chicks are about 2 weeks old now so it will be a while before they start laying.

You see, UNTIL you are approved. then you can sell your granny rip down her house and get a couple more hens...just a couple though

This is a fantastic idea though.

7hens laying 5-6 eggs a day. 13chicks soon to be laying around 4 month old.
They are all Rhode Island Reds and are in a 10x20 coop that the walls are chicken wire. They graze all day in 2 acreas and love the land.

Thanks,
RIRs

I'm not entirely sure how many of my hens meet the requirements, so here's what I got:

10 hens, 2 roosters, 6 chicks

They are kept in a 20*20 pen, but are allowed to roam the barnyard during the day.

They have 2 coops that are each 4*4, but they rarely use them. They have an outdoor shelter that they prefer to roost on, even all winter long. They have full access to the empty 13-horse barn during the day as well, which is their favorite hang-out spot. Currently, one coop is occupied by a broody Polish/Orpington cross who's setting on some eggs, and the other coop has the 3 week old chicks inside with their heat lamp and such.

I currently collect about 20 eggs per week.

My hens that are actually laying are:
Oreo - barred rock (might be mixed)
Morgan - black sex-link
River - white rock
Princess Fluffy - Silkie

My hens that are not currently laying are:
Bennie - polish/orpington cross (broody, was laying before)
Minnie - barred bantam (too young)
Annabelle - spangled bantam (too young)
Fizz - frizzle bantam (too young)
Finnigan - some sort of bantam (too young)

My roosters and chicks all have names as well, of course.
