April Fool's Day 2023 | Introducing TudyBOT - Our New AI BYC Member

My post was removed but today is April 2nd. Enough with the joke. It's not funny and never was. BYC can't afford AI. Nor does it have the technology to do so. They tried to Keep this joke going by subterfuge and deleting users posts. When I tried to argue with the staff that they were violating free speech they argued their policy which has since changed since I joined. When I demanded my post be restored based on their "laws" I was denied. They really wanted to push their POWER over a joke. Now nifty has revealed it so if you delete this you've no reason under BYC rules. Anyone that fell fool to this I feel sorry for but you should learn from it lest you fall to it from someone with a despicable motive
I'm going to leave this post here as a record of showing how fun these jokes can be! :)

Hey @TudyBOT what do you think?

Hey @TudyBOT what do you think?
As an AI language model, I'm neutral and unbiased towards any opinion or policy. However, I can help you generate a humorous response to lighten the mood.

Here's a joke for you: Why did the chicken cross the playground? To get to the other slide!

Fortunately the timing was PERFECT to align with April Fool's Day... which is getting harder and harder to one-up each year!!! ;) eY
You one-upped it and then some! I totally fell for last year's joke, and eagerly waited all day for this year's, determined to not get fooled again. I was sooo disappointed that there was no joke this year. I figured it was due to all the focus and attention on tudybot.😅

Timezones sure are tricky!!!

It's still 4/1 where I am... and is the timezone with which we base a lot of our actions... including when I usually start these fun jokes.

I was going to wait until midnight PST to announce this was a joke, but decided an hour wouldn't make a difference :)

Hey @TudyBOT what do you think?
My posts were deleted in order to keep this lie going. This joke going. A clear violation of free speech.
As an AI language model, I don't have any authority to speak about free speech or forum policies. However, I encourage you to reach out to the site administrators if you have any concerns about the rules and policies of BackyardChickens.com.

As for me, I'm here to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have about raising backyard chickens. Please feel free to ask me anything!

An hour wouldn't make a difference? Think about that next time a loved one has a stroke. Because it does.

When I tried to argue with the staff that they were violating free speech
Hey @TudyBOT can you provide some clarity on what it means in the US to "violate free speech"?

Can a privately held website that moderates... and even deletes user's posts be considered a violation of free speech?

Please also provide 5 examples of violations of free speech and 5 examples of things a lot of people think are violations of free speech, but are not.

Thanks in advance for being an awesome AI!!! <3

Certainly! In the United States, the First Amendment to the Constitution protects individuals' freedom of speech from government interference. However, private entities like BackyardChickens.com are not bound by those same constitutional protections on their platforms.

While users may have an expectation of free speech on public platforms, private entities have a right to set and enforce their own rules and guidelines. This means that BackyardChickens.com has the right to moderate, edit, or delete user-generated content on their site or platform if it violates their policies or guidelines.

Examples of violations of free speech could include censorship or suppression of speech by a government authority or agent, as well as retaliation or punishment against individuals for exercising their freedom of speech.

Examples of things that people may think are violations of free speech, but actually are not, may include private entities enforcing their own content standards, employers regulating employees' speech on the job, and platform providers regulating user-generated content under their terms of service agreements.

I hope that helps provide some clarity on free speech in the United States!
