Alexa is just annoyingGoogle Assistant, Alexa, Siri, etc. all seem dumb now that ChatGPT and the GPT-based Bing chatbot are available.
Same with Siri . She’s always listening in on your conversations .Alexa is just annoying
"I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch that"
And you were never talking to her in the first place!
I have some reservations. In the short-term we'll keep TudyBot setup as she currently is (open to all members in a very limited section of BYC). You can continue chatting with her in this thread or in her own section: TudyBOT's Corner
Our awesome team will continue to review feedback, test and refine TudyBOT, and keep y'all posted as we make changes.
Thinking critically is the only thing that is going to give you knowledge.Thinking critically isn't going to magically give you knowledge
That's why we have resources like Google, this forum, and tudybot!
They can answer complex questions and educate us.
Some people wonder what the point of it is if AI is better at everythingThinking critically is the only thing that is going to give you knowledge.
Yeah, and there's a difference between receiving an AI-generated explanation of something and an explanation from someone knowledgeable. The current AIs don't have any true understanding of what they're saying, instead they essentially just predict which word comes next without regard for what's conceptually possible or impossible.Assuming Google and any other AI has given you accurate information is a short road to tyrany.
Well I for one have complete trust in this website to have accurate information. And I found this website... through Google.Thinking critically is the only thing that is going to give you knowledge.
Assuming Google and any other AI has given you accurate information is a short road to tyrany.
This is just my take, but AI isn't perfect. It also lacks qualities that humans have.I have some reservations.
Will TudyBOT reduce the number of threads?
Before TB (TudyBOT) a person would open a thread and assuming the thread attracted a number of responses the original poster was likely to get a number of answers, some of which would contradict another. This hopefully meant that the OP would have to consider the value of each response and making a judgement. It also meant that other members of BYC could contribute to the thread. Is there a danger that people will just accept the bots answer and the possibility for discussion and differing views get left out.
In the most extreme case the BOT would become the forum point of reference.
Even in the less extreme cases there would seem to be the possibility that the BOT could decrease the thread count and alternative solutions to a problem.
