Finally a pip! Finally a pip! Finally a pip! Finally an honest-to-goodness pip!

14 eggs in the hatcher. I've been on pins and needles all day! My partner in Chicken Match knew this and played an April Fool's Joke on me, saying that there were 5 chicks in the incubator.

I could have killed him at the time!

I hope he wakes up tomorrow and finds every egg hatched and every chick peeping its beak off.

One of my little New Hampshire Red chicks hatched tonight at 10 pm, a full day early. 10 more pips out of 36. Looks like it's going to be a busy night.

We have been keeping the closet light out and the door shut and just peeking with a flashlight.
Have been wanting blue chicks the most and was just reminded by mother nature that splash am roo x blue cochin hen = some splash and some blue chicks.
We may just have a splash EE with feathered feet in there. won't know for sure until tomorrow, if the others hatch.
We are not opening the incubator, we are not opening the incubator, we are not...

im oficically in my first lockdown as of 10 min ago, i have 21 eggs and i will have 21 fuzzys in 2 to 3 days. o yacomon

Day 21 Hour 13

13/14 hatched and doing well in brooder, the last egg has not pipped yet, we were incorrect. It may be a quitter, will give it another day.
Other chicks were going gangbusters in there and fluffy, so we terminated "operation lockdown" and airlifted them to brooder.
We dipped their beaks in water and sprinkled some food on paper towels or them.
Several Blues, Light Blues and Splashes, woohoo!

Started with 8 fertile (I think) eggs and at present...3 are hatched with two more that have "pipped". Leaving 3 not anything and this is day 22 so will wait and see! I am hatching B/B/S Orpingtons. They are so cute!!!

Day 20 starts at about 3:00pm today but I woke up to 2 Pips! This is like some ancient torture though. I can't stand the suspense!

Just looked and have another pip. 2 RIR and a Buff Orp. The fathers are either black Jersey Giant or EEs, so hard telling what they will look like but I can't wait to see them!
