eeek, rotten egg found at lockdown candling, plus another questionable one.

10/13 made it to lockdown. I'm happy/sad.

First one due. Actually due tomorrow but has hatched at least one already. I found a shell outside her nest & heard peeping!

when do ducklings need grit... i bought some oyster shell... i plan on griding it up to make it smaller... will that suffice or will i have to get some regular grit also?
 
Oyster shell is not grit.. It is used to supplement calcium for egg formation.. If you give a calcium supplement before POL, you can do damage to their systems.. You need to get grit which is just small rocks and sand used to grind food in the gizzard... If they free range, they won't need a lot...
