Sending good thoughts & wishes your way, to all with incubator fluctuations. Amazingly, many chicks still make it out. Appreciate all of your reports. Happy hatching everyone!

Congrats! My fingers are crossed for good #'s on B SP Rocks & then D'uccles (they are so beautiful). Best wishes for a happy hatch!

Thanks I hope so to. 5 SPRB's out so far and two about to push out.

I decided to wait until day seven to candle (it's day five right now), and I'm going crazy here--especially hearing about all of you with hatched babies!

Trying to be patient is hard when there's chicks involved!

I saw two of my eggs rocking when I turned them today. It's too early for that I think. They dont go on lockdown until tomorrow night. It's day 17 today. Should I be worried that they developed to fast?

are geese, Embdons and toulouse 28 or 33 days..???? I have read both. Will be 28 days on next Sat. and don't know when to lock down.. thanks ....

Today I added to the incubator 3 Wheaten Ameraucana eggs from my hen, 6 BBS Ameraucana eggs, 3 Frizzle standard Cochin eggs, and 3 BCM eggs.

And although this has nothing to do with hatching - my Pygmy goat gave birth to an absolutely adorable baby girl!! Her daddy was my Nubian buck, so she has the gigantic ears to go along with that breed!

Ok 24 eggs moved to the hatcher for lockdown....due to Hatch April 8th, but I figure later due to the low temps in the incubator.

Moving day for my older chicks.

I just candled 84 eggs - it's day 10. I took out four that had blood rings and one that appeared to be infertile. All the rest had nice air pockets and veins. Of the 27 that are shipped eggs, two had blood rings. The rest appeared to be okay - there were a couple of Welsumers that had beautiful air pockets, but I couldn't see much because they are so dark.

I pencil around the air pocket so I can compare mine with a sketch I have of the air pocket size at 7, 14, and 18 days (there's a lot of growth in the four days between 14 and 18 days). Then, I sketch the next time I candle so see how the pocket has enlarged - it helps me know whether my humidity needs to be adjusted. I have had a terrible time keeping my humidity between 30 and 40 percent. The outside air is dry, so I am sure that effects it a lot. Every day it gets to about 18%. I add some water, it goes up to about 50%, then shakes itself down to between 30 and 40, but my next morning it is down to about 17% again.

Congratulations, Everyone, on your hatches!
