Wellllll, the GOOD news is, they are hatching!

Who knew...................... we are about 50% on the inc]ubator with the temp +/- swings, and the Marans [blue] are hatching .... not expecting much from the ones the USPS scrambled

but 3/6 so far on the blue!

Well... I've lost count, theres 18, 19 or 20 in running around the bator

many more pips and zippers!

I cant wait to play with them! I've kept 3 so far from every hatch... Feb. chickies are 2 months old and March chickies are 1 month old... everyone is happy out in the coop/run. I go out and play with them every day... the 3 March chickies will come up to me and roost on my arms, shoulders, back, head, I love it!

Well, chick number fourteen hatched while I was in class, but the others are still being slowpokes. Come on guys, it's time to come out already! Don't make me nervous!

In more exciting news, the single duck egg in I stuck in "just because" just pipped!

I might try letting this little one imprint on me, since none of my five ducks are imprinted. I do kind of wish it was a call duck egg hatching instead of the offspring of my large ducks (because I don't have a lot of room for more large ducks), but, hey, I'm not going to complain! Ducklings are wonderful regardless, and if it's a hen then Tux will have his own girlfriend instead of having to share Eugenie with Albert.

We aren't hatchin' but puppies due on the 28 of April!!!!! strange all the babie animals born in April like in all the story books. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

I have one speckled sussex chick under my one of my broodies ( I have four setting right now) She has a mix of eggs under her, I am hoping for more Orloffs, because my hens are getting older and not laying so good. I think she has two of them under her. The sussex seem to be and hatch under every hen I have, lol.

One broody stopped sitting on her eggs

, my little self blue oeg, she was actually on her own eggs. She would sit at night only for the last day or so and other hens who found her hidden nest in my barn would go in and lay eggs there during the day. I would throw those out. Now I stuck them under another broody ( I have broody's everywhere

) hope they may still hatch.

My BCM eggs seem to be doing well in the bator, go into lockdown on the 27th. My dh got out the generator for the incubator and my koi fish pond pump on the day the power company cut the power for hours for maintainance. Yippee!

Hooray for all the wonderful hatches!!! This has been a busy hatching month for sure.

So, my chicken mama's are still sitting on what are still 3 eggs because I can't tell who's good or not now. That is 3 out of the original 8. They are due Tuesday, but I don't be home monday or tuesday now because I have to drive my mom to her eye surgery.

I also had 9 eggs in an incubator I'm borrowing space in, and he wrote me yesterday thinking only 4 looked like they took.

He put them all back in and will candle again this weekend. I'm going to cross my fingers. But they aren't due until the second weekend in May.

But I do have chicks that are going to be shipped to me monday! That way, I will have chicks and I won't be disappointed if I have yet another bad hatch!

The new chickies are sooo stinking cute! 37 have hatched, I moved 33 to the brooder, and 4 are drying in the bator, 1 more eggs is pipped and the last 2 eggs nothing so far. Heres a pic.
