Thanks. I 'bartered a BD veil for it. I am trying to figure out how to make it my avitar. One of the ladies in our Sr. Center Belly dance/exercise class did it for me. Would you believe she doesn't think she is 'talented enough' to do her pastels for sale!

I love it!

Still not a peep, pip or anything! It will be so disappointing if none of these eggs hatch!

I've got a full incubator (eggs from PeepsInc), due on April 21st! Hoping for an awesome hatch--this is my first time with a full incubator, and boy is it exciting! When hatch day comes, I'm going to be going crazy!

This is also my first time with shipped eggs. If I get even a couple of chicks, it'll easily be worth what I spent! (Though, of course, the more the better!)

Tossed 7 eggs last night, they were infertile thanks to my old hens who had no interest in the rooster. The remaining 30 of them are looking good except for two suspected Blood rings. I've never had blood rings before so I am just going to give them til the next candling to see if they have developed. We found a sweet Maglite that is super powerful, its a pleasure to candle with

Good to see several of you again that shared your hatches with us in prior hatch-a-longs. Here we go again!

So many new names too, to make it even more fun!

scarlsens & Mallycat22: Welcome new members to the BYC!

Madcap621: Oh ya she's talented, very creative & expressive art! That was a good barter for a "treasure of uniqueness."

I know there will be hatch reports coming in any day now & then pictures, to start off April with a bang. Be sure to add discriptions to your pics so we know what kind of chicks they are.

HAPPY HATCHING to you all!

12/13 Red Dorkings (locally obtained) kickin' and gorgeous on day 16.

12/15 Australorps (ebay win, shipped eggs) also kickin' on day 14.

25/35 Brahmas (Light and buff, another ebay win, shipped eggs) kickin' on day 14.

That's 92%, 80% and 71% babies alive respectively.

Dorkings and Aussies are in a Hova Bator 1583 forced air, dry incubation (humidity low 30's to low 40's), Brahma's in a manic LG still air with crazy temp variations for the first week or so until I finally figured out how to seal it off and close the vents.

Humidity higher there, 50-65%, because of goose eggs (I know, but it wasn't exactly planned that way,

) Way, way worse on development in that LG, but overall those Brahmas are doing pretty well. If I get over 50% hatch on them I'll be pretty happy. For the Dorkings, though, I am holding out for 90%. They are so very rare and the daddy rooster dropped dead about a week into this incubation. He was GORGEOUS.

Here we are, now, with Dorking lockdown on Saturday April 3rd, Aussie and Brahma lockdown Mon April 5.

Here's a question: I have to leave town Sunday evening and won't be home until Tues. morning. Would you lockdown on Sunday, which will be day 17? or on Tuesday, day 19? I know, I know, I should have planned better, but the Dorking hen went broody and my shipped eggs were a day late! So I ended up having to run out and buy the LG last minute and hope for the best with the gazillion Brahma eggs that showed up!

Fingers crossed for next week! Good luck to you all! Can't wait to hear about the Easter babies coming this weekend!

I hope everyone has successful April hatches!!! I'm in lockdown due Friday the 2nd. I have an early bird pipped today! So exciting b/c this is my 1st hatch. I can barely see 3 others have a hairline crack.
